Daimler Truck That Drives By Itself
Daimler has showcased its future truck technology where long trips will be fun rather than stressful for the driver. Its parent company, German luxury automobile manufacturer, Mercedes-Benz ran a demo to showcase this new technology.
The Daimler future truck will be self driven and the driver seated inside can relax. The truck that will be self driven are called 'Future Truck 2025'. Based on the name, we believe these trucks will be available to the market in the year 2025.
Mercedes-Benz took their future trucks to the A14 Autobahn in Germany. They were tested for the first time on public roads and the German manufacturer was happy to report a successful test. The self-driving truck is good relief for long and boring commutes.

Now imagine if this technology comes to India. Yes, the trucks will be able to manoeuvre through traffic. However, it will probably find it impossible to travel through traffic popping out of everywhere. We believe that the truck would be applying the brakes more than moving ahead.
We are not sure when the Daimler auto driving truck will come to India, but we believe it will as we expect road conditions to improve by 2025. The future is in auto driving vehicles, perhaps nobody will drive unless on a closed circuit where one can exploit his or her potential for their own benefit.
The truck driver can take over control from the system whenever he wishes. However, with this auto driving function, one gets the feeling the driver would not even bother touching the steering wheel or transmission.
