Continental Replaces Tyres Of Transport Buses For 'Safer' World Cup
Continental, being the official sponsors of the 2014 FIFA World Cup, are promoting safe transport of players as well as guests by replacing the tyres of the 30-odd transport buses to Continental ContiGol Urbano tyres.
The ContiGol Urbano is designed with Brazilian urban traffic in mind and its frequent variations in speed. Continental claims that their new tyre is developed with a new compound and will see a mileage improvement by 30% and will keep the proper inflation 50% longer with their Air Keep technology. All the buses will be fitted with these tyres to ensure the players and guests will arrive safely.
As the name suggests, ContiGol will feature the FIFA logo on the tyre to make their presence felt at the World Cup.
At their research and development department, their products are custom made to suit the requirements of customers. Continental had already supplied tires for the 2006 and 2010 FIFA World Cup and they received positive results. They currently manufacture and supply tyres for Brazil, Ecuador, Colombia and Venezuela markets.
Continental currently operates in more than 45 countries with their commercial tyre manufacturing being their biggest business worldwide. Continental, founded in 1879 in Germany, is the world's fourth largest tyre manufacturer.
