General Motors India has been producing vehicles for a long period of time. They have been providing vehicles to various countries across the world. They have a wide range of products for different markets.
The Spark hatchback has been a popular vehicle in India. General Motors had introduced this vehicle as their budget car. The American manufacturer has now announced that they will be ending the production of their Spark hatchback.
Chevrolet's Spark sports a 995 cc petrol power mill. The mill produces peak torque of 90 Nm, along with 62 bhp of maximum power. The manufacturer claims that their hatchback provides fuel efficiency figures of 18 kpl and is paired to a 5-speed manual gearbox.
General Motors is looking into the future and will concentrate on their upcoming models. The American-based manufacturer will stop production of its Spark hatchback in India by December, 2014.
The manufacturer had recently launched limited edition models of its Spark in India. It received several updates to its exterior and interior styling. The hatchback sported a very cute and loveable body design, compared to its rivals.
Earlier we also reported that Hyundai will also be shutting down the manufacture of its Santro. The most popular vehicle in this segment was the Maruti Suzuki 800. The Japanese manufacturer dominated this segment, however, they were the first to phase out their product.
All these vehicles have shaped the current automobile market in India. They have been influential to every product on offer currently. These vehicles have been in our family at some point of our lives.
The Spark by Chevrolet is currently offered at an attractive price of INR 3,45,000 to 4,00,000 ex-showroom, New Delhi. This was the most affordable option from Chevrolet's stable and was their budget hatchback. It was well-loved by many and will be soon phased out in India.
