Calling All 4x4 Enthusiasts For The Rainforest Challenge India 2014
To all the 4x4 enthusiasts out there - the monsoon is here and with it comes the first edition of the Rain Forest Challenge India. RFC India sees Force Motors as title sponsors, and is one of the toughest and most adventurous 4X4 challenges in the world. It reaches our country for the first time this year and is all set to take place in Goa from August 8th to August 14th.
The Rainforest Challenge (RFC) is brought to India by Cougar Motorsport, which is the official representative of RFC international and is registered with The Federation of Motor Sports Clubs of India (FMSCI). From April 2009 onwards, they have successfully organised 50 events, including off-road events for Mitsubishi, Audi and Land Rover.
This year, RFC is divided into 4 stages and 6 days overall. The participants will drive almost 250 km from the south of Goa to the north, taking part in 30 Special Stages(SS), which will test their driving and recovery skills. There are 50 slots open for registration, 40 for Indian entries and the rest for foreign participants.
For the first two days, the event is open to general public and then the drivers are on their own. It's every man to himself. This event is open to all 4x4 vehicles and to ATVs.
There are seven classes and two overall rankings:
- Petrol or diesel engines not exceeding 1600cc
- Petrol and diesel engines from 1601cc to 2600cc
- ATVs will have their own class
The entry fee for Competitors and Touring Vehicles is INR 75,000 and INR 10,000 respectively. Foreign entries will be charged at USD 2,500 and USD 333 respectively.
The participation forms, event schedule, rules and regulations and all other details of the event are available at www.rfcindia.in.
