Bosch is a German auto component manufacturer, they provided various components across the globe. They are one of the leading manufacturers of spark plugs and fuel injection pumps that are used in automobiles.
Bosch has four facilities in India Maharashtra, Rajasthan and two in Karnataka. The German based manufacturer is facing problems as its workers have opted to go on a strike. The workers are trying to acquire higher salaries for their current jobs.
The strike at Bosch's Bangalore facility has been on since, 16th September, 2014. The German component manufacture claims its workers need for higher salaries is unreasonable. Currently the production at the facility has come to a complete halt and the strike is considered to be illegal.
The workers union at Bosch India had provided a notice of strike two weeks prior. Bosch management and the union have been going back and forth in terms of a salary hike. The bump in salaries were due from January, 2013. They have a policy of revising salaries once in every four years.
The negotiations for a hike in salary have been ongoing even in Bosch India's remaining three facilities. There have been strikes called at their other facilities too, however, they have resolved most of the issues.
On an average Bosch pays its employees a package of INR 65,000 per month. The German auto component manufacturer has offered a hike of INR 17,000 per month for individuals, however, the employees are asking for INR 20,000 hike per month.
