BMW 1-Series M Edition Launched In India
German luxury car manufacturer BMW has launched its smallest offering in India with a M performance package. The performance package will be available in India for a limited period of time. Only 111 BMW 1-Series, with M performance packages will be available in India.
BMW will offer the 1-Series M performance vehicle with an improved aerodynamic package, spoiler with fins, racing stripes, front grill in black and performance-denoting M badge over the car. There is a catch, though if you want one you need to book soon as it is available only till the 25th of July, 2014.
The German luxury and performance automobile manufacturer will provide the 1-Series M package in both petrol and diesel. The petrol powered engine will sport a 1.6-litre in-line four mill. It will be tuned to produce 136 horsepower, along with 220 Nm of peak torque. It will sprint from 0 to 100 km/h in 8.7 seconds.

The 1-Series with the M performance package is available in a diesel option. It will sport a 2.0-litre, 4-cylinder performance packed engine. The diesel mill will generate 320 Nm of peak torque, along with 143 horsepower. The vehicle will sprint from 0 to 100km/h in 8.6 seconds.
The 1-Series by the German manufacturer was launched in September, 2013. It has been selling in decent numbers in the Indian market. Currently the premium hatchback is heating up with Mercedes-Benz launching their Edition1 A-Class. Both these vehicles are tough competitors in their segment.

The German automobile manufacturer will charge more for its M performance 1-Series vehicles. It will be interesting to see whether people opt for the more premium and feature-rich Edition1 A-Class by Mercedes-Benz. Or will it be the more powerful M Performance 1-Series?
