Audi To Introduce Complete Range Of Hybrid Vehicles By 2020
Every manufacturer is finding new and innovative ways to implement alternative fuels. The German luxury car manufacturer have or will be launching its own future cars. BMW has already launched its i8 electric hybrid sports car.
German based Audi is not far behind and has confirmed it will introduce a hybrid range of vehicles by 2020. Audi will launch hybrid vehicles in each segment that is doing well, thus having an entire fleet of environment conscious vehicles.
Audi will be launching its first plug-in hybrid in Europe. The German manufacturer will introduce the A3 Sportback E-tron, it will be launched United States of America by 2015. It will compete head on with BMW i3, which is solely powered by a battery.

Audi officials believe hybrids are the way forward and will focus on plug-in hybrids. The German manufacturer will be producing two hybrid powertrains. The A3 E-tron gets an electric motor along with a 1.4-litre TFSI petrol powered engine. It will be mated to a 6-speed dual clutch automatic transmission.
Audi will also offer four wheel drive option with its plug-in hybrid vehicles. The petrol engine will provide power to the front wheels, while the electric motor will be situated in the rear and will power the back wheels.
Audi Engineers explain its 8.8 kWh battery pack would require 3 hours and 45 minutes to charge completely from a household outlet. While, it would take only 2 hours and 15 minutes, if you can get hold of an industrial charging station, that produces 380 volts.
