Audi A3, Sport Quattro Concept, R18 e-tron & More At 2014 Auto Expo
If you are planning to go to this year's edition of the Auto Expo in Delhi make it a point to visit the Audi stand. That's because the German luxury car maker and one of the world's leading automobile technology developer promises to offer a spectacular show with its exciting lineup of cars.
Audi says there will be 10 exclusive cars that will mesmerise visitors, ranging from its sedans and sports sedans to SUVs to concept cars and even an LMP1 race car.
One of the most important launches that will happen is that of the Audi A3 sedan. The 2014 Audi A3 will become the automaker's entry level sedan, placed below the A4.
Expected to be priced in the INR 25 lakhs range the A3 will provide a new entry point into the Audi range for potential buyers. Audi expects this gorgeous looking sedan to become its best selling model after launch. The sedan certainly has the potential to even become the best selling luxury car in India.
Another attention grabbing model that will be on display is the Audi Sport Quattro Concept. This stunning and technologically advanced concept car was first previewed at the 2013 Frankfurt Motor Show in September.
Audi Sport Quattro Concept comes with a hybrid powerplant that generates power from the combined effort of a 4.0-liter V8 twin-turbo engine and an electric motor. An all new 8-speed tiptronic transmission delivers 700 HP and 800 Nm of torque to all four wheels.
The Sport Quattro Concept has a claimed 0-100 km/h time of 3.7 seconds and can reach a top speed of 305 km/h. Other notable facts include a claimed pure electric range of up to 50 km and a fuel economy figure of about 40 km/l.
For us thought, the best of the lot has to be the 2013 Audi R18 e-tron LeMans prototype race car. Winner of last year's world's premier endurance racing championship, the 2013 Audi R18 e-tron is a technological marvel that's in the same level as Formula 1 cars. The Audi R18 e-tron is a diesel hybrid and will give Indians an amazing opportunity to marvel at a car that represents the epitome of endurance racing.
Some other models that will be on display include special edition Q3, Q5 and Q7 SUVs, the recently launched RS 7 Sportback, the most powerful Audi in India and the R8 Spyder.
