Audi A3 Declared Car Of The Year

Audi is known for building luxurious vehicles and the A3 does not fall short on any front. The German manufacturer's A3 has been declared the 2014 World Car Of The Year. The title was declared by industry leading judges from around the world.

The A3 is available as a saloon, sportback, cabriolet and as a three door option. Audi also offers a sporty 'S' option in all body styles; this is the third-generation A3 and is a class apart.

There were twenty three cars that were nominated to compete for the 2014 World Car of the Year title. The judging panel consisted of 69 automotive journalists from 22 countries across the globe.

This is the second time Audi has won the overall title. The German car manufacturer won its first World Car of the Year title ten years ago. The A6 won the inaugural award and was conferred the title of World Car of the Year in 2005.

Rupert Stadler, Chairman of the Board of Management of AUDI AG, explains, "The Audi A6 was the first ever winner of this award and we are delighted that the Audi A3 has repeated that achievement by being voted 2014 World Car of the Year."

He further added, "The Audi A3 showcases Audi's technical competence in all aspects of car making, not least in the areas of lightweight technology, drivetrain, mobile infotainment and driver assistance systems. This major award win is an achievement that the whole company can celebrate."

Audi is the only manufacturer with the most World Car of the Year titles. The German car manufacturer has previously won three World Performance Car titles, two World Car Design of the Year titles and the inaugural World Car of the Year title.
