Mathias Heimann Appointed As CEO of Apollo Vredestein B.V.
Apollo Tyres Ltd announced the appointment of Mathias Heimann as the company's President for Europe & Americas and CEO of Apollo Vredestein B.V.
Mathias, aged 48, is a German national with more than twenty years of experience in sales, marketing and production. His career in the automotive industry has included OE suppliers, retail and service organisations for automobile companies in Europe and Asia.
Making the announcement Neeraj Kanwar, the Vice Chairman and Managing Director for Apollo Tyres Ltd said, "Mathias' rich experience in the tyre industry in particular and in multi-cultural environments in general will be of immense value to Apollo as we consolidate our current operations in Europe and prepare for the next phase of growth which will be driven by the already announced Greenfield plant in Eastern Europe."
More about Mathias Heimann:
After schooling, he joined the military. Mathias was educated in Germany and the United States and holds a degree in economics.
Mathias kick started his career for the engineering division of Linde AG, selling Air Separation Units to India, before moving on to support the establishment of Linde's first subsidiary in China for the production and sales of technical gases.
He worked for many years at Continental A.G. in Europe, South America and Asia, learning as much as possible about the tyre industry.
Mathias will be based out of company's European Operations headquarters in Enschede, in the Netherlands.
Speaking about his new job, Mathias said, "With Apollo's investments in the manufacturing capabilities of the Enschede plant and expansion in Europe, coupled with significant investments in brands and marketing, I look forward to work with the team to rapidly expand our presence in the market and capture new opportunities."
