Aditya Patel Secures 2nd In GT Open Series Race
Aditya Patel, has finished second in the International GT Open Series, which took place in Barcelona today.
Aditya, who drives for Audi India, JK Tyre and Amante, along with Portuguese teammate Cesar Campanico, had a brilliant race.
A second team car was introduced during the races, driven by Fabian Hamprecht and Fernando Monje.
During the qualifying session, both the cars performed very well. Campanico qualified fifth on the grid in GT3 and in the eighth spot overall.
The portuguese driver had a tough start during the race. He gave his position, falling back a few places during the race but managed to inch his way back up to the fourth place before a pit-stop and driver change.
Once Patel took over, he put some quick laps, passing the team's other car to move to the front. Once he passed the cars, Patel pushed hard to pass the leading car but owing to short time, he maintained a steady pace to finish the race second.
Aditya said, "It was a great result, the track was fantastic and my Audi R8 ran beautifully throughout. We are very happy to take our 5th podium for the season and hope to do even better in tomorrow's race. Many thanks to the support from Audi India, Amante and JK Racing who were even present here to cheer me on."
