2015 Honda HR-V Revealed In New York
Honda has revealed their HR-V at the 2014 New York Auto Show. It is based on Honda's Fit and they have only been teasing the world with its images. Now the production model is ready.
The HR-V crossover will be available later this year. Honda has not revealed the official launch date and this is only an unveil.
Honda had earlier showcased a similar-looking Urban SUV concept at Detroit Motor Show
The HR-V sports diamond-shaped headlights and the centre slat divides the grille into two parts. The rear door handles have been integrated into the back pillar. The HR-V has a gentler-sloping rear as compared to the dramatic slope on the concept version.
The Japanese car manufacturer plans to introduce its HR-V with a 1.5-litre four-cylinder direct injected engine. They will also offer CVT as an option and they could also offer a turbocharged version.
Jeff Conrad, senior vice president and general manager of the Honda automobile division for American Honda explains, "Both Fit and HR-V demonstrate how great things can come in small packages, and no one does this better than Honda."
He further added, "Together these models also represent Honda's step-by-step expansion of our production in the region, which has been key to our success in America for more than 30 years."
The HR-V is smaller when compared to Honda's CR-V and pricing of the new vehicle will be crucial. Honda explains they will provide more details on pricing, power and specs around the launch time of their HR-V.
