2014 Fiat Punto Coming To India In August
Italian manufacturer Fiat has been trying to revive excitement and enthusiasm with its products in the Indian market. At the 2014 Auto Expo, they showcased several of their new products scheduled for Indian buyers.
Fiat displayed its New Linea, Fiat 500 and its compact SUV Avventura. They also showcased its new performance brand in India Abarth and its first vehicle for India the Abarth 500. They have started a few initiatives to further improve its relation with potential as well as existing customers.
The Italian based manufacturer will be launching a new and refreshed version of its Punto hatchback in August this year. The 2014 Punto will receive significant cosmetic updates. However, under the hood no changes will be made, which is a bit disheartening.

On the exterior end it will receive changes to the headlights, grille and a redesigned bumper. The tail lights are also set for a change. The interior of Punto will also get refreshed, the Italian manufacturer will provide the same dashboard it has in its 2014 Linea.
As said earlier, mechanical there won't be any change and Fiat will provide two petrol and one diesel engine with different tunes to choose from. The Italian will provide a 1.2-litre and 1.4-litre petrol engine, while the diesel will be available as 1.3-litre Multijet engine. The diesel mill will be available as a 74 horsepower and 89 horsepower variant.
Fiat has not been doing particularly well in India, with just two products to offer. They need the Avventura desperately to get them in the limelight. The compact SUV has been highly appreciated by Indian and if priced well will do wonders.
The 2014 Punto will cost close to what they currently are asking for its hatchback. However, Fiat could increase the price when they launch the hatchback in August.
