Pagani Zonda Revolucion; The Last Hurrah
The very last of its kind, the last Zonda, has been revealed, or so Pagani says. We say this because Pagani has made that statement several times before, but new Zonda variants keep sprouting. Not that we mind.
So, once again Pagani has revealed what it calls will be the last Zonda for good. The Zonda Revolucion as it is called, is based on the track special Zonda R and it is the most powerful hypercar Pagani has ever built.
As
with
the
previous
Zonda
R
variants,
the
Zonda
Revolucion
will
be
limited
to
just
5
units.
As
we
have
come
to
expect
from
previous
Pagani
limited
edition
vehicles,
the
Zonda
revolucion
is
more
expensive
than
any
Ferrari
or
McLaren
hypercars.
Even
at
2.2
million
euros
without
taxes
every
single
piece
have
already
been
spoken
for.
If you are not too familiar with Zonda hypercars or Pagani in general then you might be wondering if the sky high price tag is worth it. The answer to that is this......
The Pagani Zonda R is one of the fastest car in history to ever lap the Nürburgring Nordschleife (6.47 minutes). The new Zonda Revolucion, which is based on the Zonda R, is lighter, more powerful and more aerodynamic.
Powering the Zonda Revolucion is an AMG sourced 6.0 liter V12 engine that delivers 800 HP (50 more than Zonda R) and 550 ft-lb of torque.
All that engine power only has to propel a car that weighs just 1070 kg, which is less than what a Renault Duster weighs!
The six speed transmission has been reinforced and upgraded to be a lot more faster (shifts in 20ms) and stronger to enable to to rein in the engine power.
Quite obviously the car is made from all sorts of exotic, lightweight materials, including the Pagani special, Carbon-Titanium alloy.
Pagani Zonda Revolucion has come a long way from the Zonda R prototype. The aerodynamics have been upgraded, which provide a lot more downforce now to keep it from taking off.
Pagani Zonda Revolucion even gets a piece of Formula One, with the introduction of Drag Reduction System.
If the Pagani Zonda Revolucion is indeed going to be the last Zonda then there could not have been a better closure to the spectacular legacy of Pagani's first ever car.
