Lotus, Spyker & Pagani Looking To Enter India
The number of millionaires in India are growing every year and this is attracting the attention of ultra expensive car makers from Europe. Names such as Ferrari, Lamborghini, Koenigsegg and Bugatti are already here, but there are other big names which are now planning to make their entry into India.
Three such names have now come up, namely, Pagani Automobili from Italy, Lotus from the UK and Spyker from Netherlands. Financial Express reports that all three performance car manufacturers are looking to enter India via the import route and will be represented by local dealerships much like the other niche brands.
Spyker C8 Aileron
Spyker will be first of the lot, with sales set to start as early as the end of 2013. While the local partner has already been recognized the name of the dealership is yet to be announced.
Spyker B6 Venator
Spyker will initially provide its C8 Aileron supercar that's powered by an Audi 4.2 liter V8 engine with 400 HP & 480 Nm torque that can take the car to a top speed of 300 km/h. It will be followed by the B6 Venator.
Pagani Huayra
Pagani, the boutique Italian hypercar maker is well known for its Zonda and the new Huayra. The Huayra is one of the fastest car in the world and features advanced active aerodynamics. The hypercar is powered by a 700 HP 6 liter V12 custom engine specially developed by AMG.
Pagani Huayra
As for Pagani's entry into India it is still in the planning stage, but updates could come before the end of 2014.
Lotus may not be in the same league as Pagani, but it still makes some of the lightest and best driver's sports cars in the world. Lotus has revealed it is evaluating the Indian market potential.
What's common about all three car makers is they are low volume players. The cars they offer are manufactured in limited numbers, with the focus being on exclusivity. Dealerships will be limited and will be limited to metros. Spyker, for instance, will have a single dealership in delhi catering to entire country. As far as the common man is concerned we do not have to visit Italy to glance at a rare multi-million hypercar like the Huayra.
