Lamborghini Cabrera: First Official Details Of Gallardo Successor
We'll not have to wait too long now for the first details about the Gallardo successor to emerge. Coming straight from a Lamborghini official's mouth, "The Gallardo follower will be unveiled in 2014 and a first press release will be send out before Christmas", reports inautonews.
The Gallardo successor unofficially christened Cabrera, is likely to be launched during the second half of 2014. The Cabrera has been spotted testing plenty of times wearing camouflage and rendered based on these spy shots.

Based on these it is now known that the Gallardo successor will be a much sharper looking model than its predecessor and much closer to its larger sibling, Aventador in terms of styling. However, internally, the Cabrera will more closely resemble the next Audi R8, with which it will share several vital components.
This includes the lightweight, modular space frame chassis built from carbon fibre and aluminium. However, the Cabrera will have a shorter wheelbase and as a result, will weight less than the Audi R8.
The engine at the back of the Gallardo successor will be an up-tuned version of the same 5.2 liter V10 engine from the Gallardo and will be capable of developing as much as 600 HP. The engine will be mated to a six speed automatic transmission that will power all four wheels.
While we have come to know the Gallardo successor as the Cabrera, it is likely that Lamborghini will also pick up the name. The mystery will be revealed in the next couple of weeks.
