It's been 15 years since India's present day No.2 car maker, the South Korean Hyundai Motors made its debut here. Their first car, as many of you might remember, was the Santro. To mark the occassion the company has come out with a special edition model - Santro Xing Celebration Edition. The Santro is in fact the oldest nameplate that still being offered, in India, (if you do not consider the Ambassador).
The Celeb Edition, as is typical with special edition models in India, gets a few visual and feature upgrades, while the same engine is retained. Starting with the exterior, body graphics adorns the side, there is chrome garnish at the rear. Unfortunately, there are no alloy wheels, which is kind of a let down.
On the inside you get a rear sun blind, a new set of floor mats and Blaupunkt audio system. Hyundai has also provided the Celebration Edition with parking sensors. Colours made available are Coral White, Sleek Silver and Mushroom.
Santro Xing Celebration Edition will is only being provided on the GL Plus model, but you can have it in either petrol or LPG engine options. Pricing has not been announced, but Hyundai has put in place a finance rate of 7.44 percent.
