The 1200 HP Shelby 1000 Revealed Ahead Of NY Show
The 2013 Shelby 1000, the most powerful production muscle car in the world, will make its appearance at the upcoming New York International Auto Show. The 2013 Shelby 1000 is a cranked up version of standard Ford Shelby GT500, producing a massive 1200 HP.

While a regular Ford Shelby GT500 is no slouch itself, with its 5.8 liter powerplant producing 662 HP, Shelby American strips the engine and rebuilds it, strengthening and modifying it in the process, thus coaxing it to produce the 1200 horses.
Furthermore, the 20113 Shelby 1000 gets a new launch control, adjustable performance suspensions, along with performance cooling package and larger brakes.
According to Vince LaViolette, Shelby American's test driver, the new Shelby 1000 will be more than just a brutal muscle car. While a muscle car in general corners badly, this one he says, will attack corners and rip through them with minimal body roll, while maintaining its composure. "The steering provides wonderful feedback and the car tracks beautifully, giving it an athletic feel," he adds.
Production of 2013 Shelby 1000 will be limited to just 100 units and every unit sold will be numbered and documented in the official Shelby Registry.
