Le Mans 24 Hours: Audi R18 e-tron Quattro Wins
Audi managed to secure a comprehensive second consecutive win at the 24 Hours by beating Toyota, in the LMP1 class. The #2 Audi R18 e-tron Quattro beat the #8 Toyota TS030 Hybrid by a full lap.
The Audi was driven by Loïc Duval, Tom Kristensen and Allan McNish, while the Toyota team consisted of drivers Anthony Davidson, Sébastien Buemi and Stéphane Sarrazin. Meanwhile, the #3 and #1 Audis finished in 3rd and 5th positions respectively and the #7 Toyota in 4th. With this win Audi has won the race 12 times in the last 14 years. The thing to be noted here is that the top 5 winning cars were allhybrid vehicles, which should tell us something about the changing attitudes of car makers in general.
