Facts:

Volvo is all set to launch the V40 Cross Country in India by mid-2013. The V40 Cross country is a crossover hatch. The V40 Cross Country has been developed from the stylish V40 hatchback. Currently Volvo offer's only four models in India, two being the S60 and S80 saloons and the other two being, XC60 and XC90 SUVs.
The Volvo V40 Cross Country will be the entry level product for India. Volvo will looking to take the competition to BMW and Audi. Let's not forget BMW dominates this section with their X1 and Audi with their Q3. Volvo hopes to provide stiff competition with the V40 Cross Country in the entry level luxury crossover segment.
If that was really to happen, then we are looking at a price range of INR 22 to 26 lakhs. This five door crossover hatch from Volvo will initially enter India via the CBU (Completely Built Unit) route.
Some of the features of the V40 Cross Country, that really caught our attention are the new upright day-running lights and honeycomb mesh grille. Does the V40 Cross country styling impress you?
Drivespark believes for India, the V40 Cross Country will come with a 2.0-litre D3 diesel engine capable of churning out 150 horsepower. We also expect a six speed automatic transmission to be offered.
Drivespark Thinks! By Volvo bringing in the V40 Cross Country, the entry level luxury crossover segment gets more interesting. If Volvo can price it between INR 20 to 25 lakhs it will surely get BMW and Audi noticing!
