The year 2012 has seen many sort of a roller coaster ride for carmakers in India. While new cars produced very positive results, low market sentiment did not help boost sales to expected levels. Take away the new car launches of this year, 2012 would have been a dull one for sure.

The year 2012 started of with a bang thanks to the Delhi Auto Expo. Carmakers from across the globe congregated in Delhi to showcase their latest cars. The event witnessed several debuts, most notably the global unveiling of the Ford EcoSport compact SUV and the Maruti Suzuki Ertiga. The new Swift DZire is Maruti Suzuki's first compact sedan measuring less than four metres in length. With a refreshed exterior look and more features, the new Swift DZire has gained more popularity than its predecessor.
