Jaguar Land Rover Help Tata Motors Global Sales
Year on year sales at Tata Motors have been steady with improved sales of Jaguar and Land Rover compensating for the reduced sales of passenger cars in India. Jaguar and Land Rover have come to the rescue of Tata Motors again this June as these two brands are the primary reason behind Tata Motors posting a positive sales report for June.
Tata Motors Global sales stood at 94,055 units. This includes both passenger car sales and commercial vehicle sales. In its global sales report, Tata Motors has stated it sold 46,159 passenger cars in June marking a 7% increase from previous June.
A huge chunk of it came from Jaguar and Land Rover who have garnered 28,215 unit sales. JLR's sales have increased by 39% in June this year. The rest of the sales are from Tata Motors passenger car division in India. Tata Motors has posted a 3% decline in its sales in India.
Tata Motors Commercial vehicle sales increased by 6 per cent to 47,896 units.Tata Motors' market share in the commercial vehicle space in India has come down in recent months.
