At a time when the MPV race is hotting up with the launch of Maruti Suzuki's sensational Ertiga and many more to come, reports are that Indian carmaker Premier is also planning to launch a six seater MPV. Reports are that Premier is planning to introduce the Zotye Multiplan Langyue MPV in the country which is being sold in the Chinese market.
Premier had launched the Rio compact SUV in the country recently. The Premier MPV which is wider in size than other MPVs will feature two row of flat seats (3+3 layout) with a sizable luggage space area in the rear.
The Premier MPV may get Fiat's lively 1.3 litre Multijet CRDI Diesel engine fitted in the Premier Rio when launched in the country. The MPV is fitted with a five speed manual transmission in the global market.
The Premier MPV has reportedly been found undergoing tests on Indian roads. However, Premier has been mum on the new MPV and has not revealed any details of the car.
We can expect the Premier MPV to be priced around Rs 9 lakh. The MPV could also be available as a passenger vehicle as well as commercial vehicle.
