Maruti Suzuki has set the rumour mills running about the launch of its new small car speculatively named as the Alto 800. Reports say the Alto 800's launch is not too far away. In fact September 15th is the date on which we might witness the launch of the Maruti 800 replacement.
This should be happy news for many people who are waiting for the new Maruti 800 as it is expected to be priced slightly above the current version. There are hardly three days left for the launch if September 15th is the official launch date. Maruti Suzuki has so far managed to keep things hush hush about its new car.
The Maruti Suzuki Alto 800 is a new small car powered by a locally developed petrol engine. Maruti Suzuki had only said it would launch the car during the festive season but had not indicated any specific date. Maruti Suzuki is yet to announce the launch date of the Alto 800.
Maruti Suzuki could have delayed the launch of the new Alto 800 following the lockout at its Manesar plant. Although the new small car is scheduled to be built at its plant in Gurgaon, The Manesar lockout could have had an impact on the launch schedule. Hence one cannot sure about the new Maruti Alto 800's launch being on September 15th.
The closest thing that Maruti Suzuki can do on September 15th will probably be unveiling the car for the public. Considering the slowing demand for its small cars Maruti could rekindle some demand. It remains to be seen if Maruti Suzuki will also announce the opening of bookings of its new car.
We have so far not received news about Maruti starting large scale production of the Alto 800 in its plants. But considering how secretive Maruti Suzuki has been about its small car project do not be surprised by any thing.
