Maruti Suzuki Ertiga To Get Auto Box, Dual AC
The Suzuki Ertiga was displayed during the 2012 Indonesian International Auto show and it had grabbed eyeballs with its distinct style. The Ertiga has been launched in India by Suzuki, the parent company of Maruti Suzuki as its entry level MPV.
The Suzuki Ertiga was launched in Indonesia earlier this year and it has become a huge success. Suzuki dealers in Indonesia are now requesting Maruti Suzuki India, which builds the Ertiga to send more numbers of the compact MPV. Demand for the Ertiga is growing in Indonesia and Suzuki is now planning to launch a new Ertiga variant with more features.

Suzuki is responding to customer feedback by add in dual AC as well as an automatic variant. The Ertiga's automatic variant will most likely get the four speed auto box used in the Swift and Swift DZire. This automatic gearbox is most suitable as the Ertiga's engine is very similar to the ones used in the hatchbacks. Moreover, the Ertiga is built on the same platform used in the Swift and DZire.
The Ertiga's automatic variant will also be a welcome addition to Maruti Suzuki's line-up too. If It can build an automatic Ertiga for Indonesia, there is little doubt that the same will be rolled out in the India market. An automatic variant of the Ertiga's diesel variant could be received well. However, Maruti Suzuki might follow its practice of launching the automatic only in the mid level petrol variant.
The Ertiga has been a resounding success despite being Maruti Suzuki's first MPV in India. The Ertiga has become one of the top 10 best selling cars in India within months of its launch and is giving a tough fight to segment leader Toyota Innova in monthly sales. The automatic Ertiga can push it past the Toyota Innova.
