Bentley Mulsanne's New Vision

Bentley Motors, the British luxury car manufacturer is developing the convertible version of its flagship sedan, the Mulsanne. The Bentley Mulsanne has so far been available only in its standard form and this is the first time Bentley has revealed plans to add a new variant.

Bentley had launched the Mulsanne in 2009 at the Pebble Beach Concours d'Elegance. The Bentley Mulsanne's convertible variant is expected to be launched in late 2013 either as a concept or as a full production ready model. Bentley is very proud of its flagship and is keen to deliver the same levels of luxury and finesse in its convertible version too.

So what can you expect from the Bentley Mulsanne convertible? The Mulsanne Vision, according to the design sketches revealed by Bentley Motors indicate the car will be a two door soft top. The exterior design on the front will remain almost same. The rear design will be modified to accommodate the retractable roof. With the rear doors removed, the amount of space available in the rear cabin might be slightly lower than in the sedan.

The Mulsanne Convertible Concept is touted to be the world's most elegant and sophisticated convertible, providing a supremely powerful and refined luxury grand touring experience for four adults. Bentley's famous coach built interiors and sporty performance will not be missed in the Mulsanne convertible too.

As far as power options are concerned, we expect the Mulsanne convertible to retain the venerable V8 engine that has been powering Bentley limousines since several decades.

Bentley's Chairman and Chief Executive, Wolfgang Dürheimer while speaking about the new project said: "The modern, luxurious, high-tech Mulsanne saloon provides a perfect foundation on which to create the world's most elegant convertible. The Convertible Concept will extend the appeal of the Mulsanne family, while enhancing the profile of the Bentley brand, particularly in new and emerging markets."
