German luxury car maker Audi posted a sales growth of 76 per cent at 718 cars in the month of June comparing with the same period last year. The carmaker is the fastest growing luxury brand in the country.
Audi amassed sales of 4000 cars in the first half of 2012 (January - June) marking up a growth of 43 per cent. The recently launched Audi Q3 life style crossover has emerged as the latest hit for the premium carmaker.
The Q3 bagged 500 bookings in 5 days of its launch. The second lot of 500 Audi Q3 crossovers are open for bookings now.
Audi India Head Michael Perschke said: "With the help of our robust consumer propositions, we are also confident of further boosting our sales despite the economic challenges like high fuel prices, inflation, reduction in retail loans and rupee devaluation."
Audi had clinched the second spot in luxury car sales toppling Mercedes Benz earlier this year. The carmaker has been expending its product range in the country and aims to grab the first spot by 2015. The carmaker also plans to expand its dealership network to 25 from the current number of 19 showrooms.
Audi garnering over 804,000 fans on Facebook, which makes it the second biggest online community after Audi USA proves the popularity of the brand in India. The carmaker has also become the most awarded luxury car manufacturer of the year by bagging 27 awards.
