Aston Martin has unleashed a new sports car in the form of the V12 Vantage Roadster, the convertible version of the highly venerated sports car. Aston Martin has stated that the new car will be a limited edition model and will be available only in select markets worldwide.
Powered by a massive six-litre naturally aspirated V12 engine the V12 Vantage Roadster can achieve breathtaking speeds with ease. Aston Martin has claimed a 0 to 100kmph sprint time of just 4.5 seconds. The engine V12 can develop peak power of 515bhp and 570Nm of torque.
The V12 Vantage is Aston Martin's most powerful convertible and can achieve a top speed of 305kmph. The V12 Vantage Roadster carries much of the technical specifications and features of the Vantage coupe. There are some slight changes in design to accommodate the retractable roof.
The V12 Vantage Roadster features a redesigned rear boot lid and lower front air intake to maintain a level of dynamic performance that's fully in keeping with the V12 Coupe, while there are also a number of unique chassis revisions. These include a modified rear damper set-up, front and rear damper valve tuning and a new rear spring design.
These changes, in conjunction with Aston Martin's use of Pirelli P Zero Corsa tyres, ensure the sports car delivers dramatic straight-line performance as well as outstanding handling.
Aston Martin cars have always been appreciated for their sleek looks and the V12 Vantage Roadster is no different. The vintage front grille design, loads of carbon fibre and rear spoiler give the car a distinct Aston Martin look.
Aston Martin is offering several personalization options to style the V12 Vantage Roadster's interior. Carbon Fibre continues to be the most preferred material
Aston Martin Chief Executive Officer Dr Ulrich Bez was all praise about his company's new car. He said: : "The V12 Vantage models are, first and foremost, driver's cars - inviting and fully rewarding the driver's full involvement. The addition to our range of this exceptional new Roadster allows the driver and passenger to experience full ‘sensory overload' thanks to its outstanding performance."
