Car theft is a major problem that has been on a rise in the recent times affecting people to the core. Now, here is a new mobile phone feature that will save your car from thieves.

As part of a project, a group of final year students from Sree Chitra Thirunal College of Engineering, Thiruvanathapuram have developed the technology that will effectively prevent car theft. This will enhance the security of your car making car theft a difficult job.

According to the concept, an equipment will be placed inside the car which will be synced with your mobile phone. If someone tries to intrude into the car without your information, then a call will be made to your mobile phone, as soon as the owner gives a call back, the car's engine will be locked and only the owner could restart it.

The main highlight of the feature is that distance won't prevent you from using this technology ie, you can use it even if you are away from your vehicle. The developers of the feature claim that the product is priced at an affordable price of Rs 2000 and guarantee 100-per cent prevention against car theft.
