Honda Motors Will Offer Vocational Training
Honda Motors has announced plans to open a vocational training institute in India to impart technical and specialised courses in areas related to automobiles and supply chain. Indian motorists who had to deal with mechanics with no formal technical education can now be relieved as Honda's vocational institute will be churning out qualified mechanics.
Honda said the vocational institute will be set up in Rajastan so that alumni can be employed at its new manufacturing facility which will be built soon. Honda has been a pioneer of innovative practices in manufacturing and the Indian trainees will definitely benefit from the institute. The Foreign Investment and Proposals Board of the Indian government has already approved the Honda's plans. Honda said both its own employees and the general public could enrol themselves in the vocational institute.
Honda's decision to start a vocational institute will benefit the carmaker as well as the general public. Honda can ensure it gets fully trained employees who already know its production techniques. The mechanics in India will also benefit from this vocational training as their skill are improved at Honda's vocational institute. Further details about the institute are currently unavailable.
Honda has been operating in India since 1995 and has two production facilities. The first one is in Greater Noida with a production capacity of 100,000 units. The second plant in Tapukara, Rajastan has a production capacity of 60,000 units.
