Five New Features Of The Facelifted Maruti Alto 800
Maruti has launched the new Alto 800, its entry level hatchback in India with prices starting from Rs. 2.49 lakhs ex-showroom (Delhi). So what do the new Alto 800 features compared to the old Alto 800, let us read through the five new features?
New Maruti Facelifted Alto 800 Exterior
On the exterior of the new Alto 800, the front grille has gone through change, it's slimmer and longer. The Suzuki badge which used to be housed on the grille on the old Alto 800 has moved lower to sit in between the grille and the air dam.
The air dam too changed with a new design of a trapezoidal shape, which gives the facelifted Alto 800 a sporty look. Fog lamp profile has been added similar to its elder sibling, the Alto K10, and sharp edge design and makes the front bumper a bit sleeker.
As for the headlamps, it is slightly tweaked and the turn indicators lens are in orange now, chrome inserts separate the headlamp from the indicators. The facelifted Alto 800 comes in six different colours - Superior White, Silky Silver, Granite Grey, Blazing Red as well as two new colours, Mojito Green and Cerulean Blue.
The ORVMs (Outside Rear View Mirrors) was at the driver side, the facelifted Alto 800 gets on the co-driver side as well.
New Maruti Facelifted Alto 800 Mileage
Maruti has tuned the facelifted Alto 800 engine to put some more mileage for the drive, it has enhanced from 22.74 to 24.7 kmpl. On the CNG variant of the new Alto 800, it gives a mileage of 33.44 km/kg.
The Renault Kwid runs a mileage of 25.17 kmpl, hence, Maruti had to rework on the facelifted Alto 800 to provide a bit more mileage compared to the old Alto 800.

New Maruti Facelifted Alto 800 Interiors
As for the interiors of the facelifted Alto 800, there is new fabric for the seats with integrated headrests for the rear seats. Also, there are new storage spaces like in the one on top of the glove box, probably to keep your mobile phone on the side of the co-driver seat.
There is even a bottle holder for the rear passenger. Maruti claims to have slightly increased the leg room at the back and head and shoulder room for the front row.
New Maruti Facelifted Alto 800 Features
There is a new audio system, comparatively improved from the old Alto 800, which they call is the integrated music system. There are even the power windows for the front row which is placed in the middle console. Also, keyless entry feature which is new to the facelifted Alto 800.

New Maruti Facelifted Alto 800 Safety
With safety becoming an important requirement in a car, Maruti has given the option to go for the driver side airbags across variants. Renault Kwid has the option only on its top most variant as an option.
Also, Maruti has fitted the rear door with Child Lock and emphasize on the safety of the passenger and children.
Maruti has brought new changes to the Alto 800 because it's facing stiff competition from Renault Kwid and soon to be launched Datsun redi-GO. The Alto brand is the bread butter model from Maruti and it would look to retain its leadership in the market as the largest selling car in India.
