Chevrolet Trailblazer vs Ford Endeavour Comparison
The SUV segment is growing at a good pace in India, which has opened doors to bigger engines as well. One of the most anticipated launches this year was the Chevrolet Trailblazer, which is currently sitting at the top of the SUV range (excluding luxury SUVs).
While it enjoys being at the top currently, there is another American competitor that will make an entry into the Indian market soon, the Ford Endeavour, that could pose a threat to the Trailblazer. So how does the Trailblazer compare to the Ford Endeavour, which is a well known name in the Indian market? Let's compare the pricing, specification, features, and safety of these two SUVs and find out which is better.
Pricing
- Chevrolet Trailblazer: Rs. 26.40 lakh
-
Ford
Endeavour:
Rs.
23.63
lakh
Note: Prices are ex-showroom values (Delhi)
Design
The Chevrolet Trailblazer features a bold, boxy, typical American SUV stance. It has sharp lines and flared arches, that give the SUV a great road presence. The overall design of the SUV is bold and muscular, which is quite common, and needed for an SUV design.
The Ford Endeavour on the other hand has shed it old school boxy design to take up a modern look. The Endeavour too, sports a bold muscular look, but in a very refreshing way, making the SUV look much more sporty, in a modern way.
Engine Specification & Gearbox
The Chevrolet Trailblazer is powered by a 2.8-litre, four-cylinder, turbocharged diesel engine that produces 197bhp and a massive 500Nm of torque. The engine comes mated to a 6-speed automatic gearbox, and power is sent to the rear wheels. The Trailblazer returns a mileage of 11.4km/l.
The Ford Endeavour will be on offer with two diesel engine options, which is a 2.2-litre, four-cylinder engine that produces 158bhp and 385Nm of torque, and a 3.2-litre, four-cylinder engine that produces 197bhp and 470Nm of torque.
The Endeavour will be available with a choice of either a 6-speed manual or a 6-speed automatic gearbox. The SUV will be available with either a two-wheel drive or a four-wheel drive option.
Features
On the features front, the Trailblazer comes with automatic climate control, cruise control, park assist, programmable follow me headlights, 7-inch MY-LINK infotainment system, leather interiors, 6-way electrically adjustable driver's seat and 4-way adjustable passenger seat, and a sunglass holder.
The Endeavour comes with a sunroof, powered seats, climate control, 10-speaker audio system, park assist, a Terrain Management System, power operated tailgate, power folding seats, and LED lighting, to name a few. Both SUVs, the Trailblazer and the Endeavour come with 18-inch wheels and disc brakes for all four wheels.
Safety
On the safety front, the Trailblazer is equipped with Electronic Stability control, Anti-lock Braking System, Cornering Brake Control, Hill Start Assist, Traction Control System, and airbags. The Endeavour will feature seven airbags, hill climb and descent control system, ABS, and many more.
Verdict
Both, the Trailblazer and the Endeavour are very equally matched. Both offer great space, power, road presence, ground clearance, and features needed to tackle any road condition. But take a minute and think, what makes an SUV a SUV? The four-wheel drive system. That is what clears the Endeavour of that little obstacle the Trailblazer is struggling with. So, if you are looking for a capable SUV, the Endeavour is what we suggest.
