2016 Paris Motor Show: Peugeot’s Large SUV Makes Its Debut

Peugeot has debuted its large SUV, the 5008 at the 2016 Paris Motor Show. The model is transformed from the firms older MPV model and given a stylish touch to the SUV.

The seven-seater SUV shares the same resemblance as the smaller 3008 SUV. The front end is beefier than its smaller sibling. The bold shoulder line and rugged body cladding give it an SUV-inspired styling. The rear end design hints a huge amount of space inside.

The 5008 will be available in two petrol engines, a 1.2-litre mill which produces 128bhp coupled to six-speed manual or auto transmission. The larger 1.6-litre engine produces 163bhp and will be available only with the automatic gearbox.

The diesel variants of the SUV also comes with two diesel engines - 1.6-litre which produces 118bhp and 2-liter mill which pumps out 148bhp or 178bhp.

The interior design is also shared from the 3008, which uses the Peugeot's i-Cockpit design. It features eight-inch touchscreen, 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster and compact steering wheel. Chrome buttons have been added to easy access to various functions.

The main advantage of this SUV is its practicality, with third-row seats equipped in all the variants, this SUV will be spacious. As the company states, this is one of the best people carriers in the market.
