German carmaker Audi has unveiled the all-new RS3 performance sedan at the 2016 Paris Motor Show.
The new RS3 is the top of the line performance variant of Audi's smallest sedan the A3.
The RS3 is first car to be launched under the re-branded Audi Sport division which was formerly known as Audi Quatro GmbH.
The new RS3 is powered by the five-cylinder, 2.5-litre turbocharged engine seen on the Audii TT RS. The engine produces 394.5bhp and 480Nm of torque which is 32bhp and 15Nm of torque more than the previous RS3.
All that power is sent to all four wheels through a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic gearbox.
The RS3 will sprint from 0 - 100km/h in just 4.1 seconds.
The performance sedan will keep on sprinting till it hits an electronically limited top speed of 250km/h.
Audi will raise the limited top speed of the RS3 to 280km/h on request.
The new RS3 is 4,479mm long, 1,960mm wide and 1,399mm tall. The wheelbase of the performance version the A3 sedan is 2,631mm long.
The front track of the new RS3 is 20mm wider that the A3 at 1,559mm while at the rear the wheels are now 14mm further apart (1,528mm).
Design wise, at the front the the big Audi grille now features a 'quattro' badge.
Under the front bumper is a aero blade at the that funnels the air into the air intakes and further forward through the wheel arches.
At the rear, a fixed spoiler sits on the boot lid. A diffuser sits underneath the rear bumper and is flaked on either end by an exhaust.
The interiors of the RS3 feature a dark tone. The leather covered flat-bottomed steering wheel adds a sporty feel to the interiors of the car.
The RS3 badges on the door sills are illuminated to give the interior a bit more flair, and all the usual toys like the touchscreen infotainment system are present, just like on a normal A3.
The sport seats are draped in black Nappa leather and have RS badges on the headrests. The covers are diamond patterned and color-perforated.
Optional contoured RS sport seats with integrated head restraints are also available.
The 2017 RS3 is available in all of the colours from the normal A3 range. RS-specific paint colors Nardo gray and Catalunya red are also available as options.
The New RS3 will go on sale in Europe in 2017.
