Los Angeles Auto Show 2016: Limited Edition Mercedes-Maybach S650 Cabriolet Revealed
The Mercedes-Maybach S650 Cabriolet has been revealed and it will be limited to just 300 ultra luxury units.
German carmaker Mercedes-Benz has revealed the limited edition Mercedes-Maybach S650 Cabriolet at the 2016 Los Angeles Auto Show.
Mercedes will only make 300 units of the Maybach-badged S650 cabriolet and each one will carry a hefty price tag of €300,000 (Rs. 2.17 Crore).
Each Maybach S650 Cabriolet will come with its own individually numbered key ring along with a certificate signed by Mercedes-Benz chairman Dieter Zetsche.
Design wise, the new Maybach badged S-Class cabriolet gets a new front bumper, while at the sides, there are Maybach badges on the flanks along with all new 20-inch forged chrome wheels.
The puddle lamps also get the Maybach treatment while at the rear, the Maybach name is clearly visible to the left of the Mercedes badge.
According to Mercedes, the new Maybach cabriolet gets every option available on the S-Class, including those crazy Swarovski crystal headlamps as standard. The new Maybach also gets a custom luggage set as standard.
To help owners differentiate between each others cars, there are special hand-finished veneers while unique elements of the trim for the doors, and dashboard among others can be individually commissioned by each owner.
Power to drive this Maybach yacht on wheels comes from a 6.0-litre twin-turbo V12 that cranks out 612.5bhp and 999Nm of torque which is sent to the rear wheels through a 7-speed automatic gearbox.
0-100km/h takes just 4.1 seconds and the top speed is limited to 250km/h.
To ensure that no inside feels even the slightest undulation on the road, the Maybach cabrio gets a specially tuned version of Merc's AirMatic air suspension system.
The Mercedes-Maybach S650 Cabriolet will go on sale in the spring of 2017.
