Los Angeles Auto Show 2016: Honda Is Back In The Game With New Civic Si
Honda claims that the 2017 models will be the best-handling Civic's yet.
Honda has unveiled the New Civic Si which will fall between the base model and the Type R edition. The Si will come equipped with 19-inch wheels and a unique aero kit featuring front and rear splitters and a rear spoiler.
Both the Civic coupe and sedan will receive the high-torque 1.5-litre, inline-four cylinder, turbocharged engine. Unfortunately, Honda is yet to reveal the performance figures of the car.
However, rumours suggest that the car could produce well over 220Bhp; a 16Bhp increase over the previous-generation Si.
The more powerful engine will come connected with a six-speed manual gearbox with a short shifter capped by an aluminium knob.
In the interior, the car boasts Si-exclusive bucket seats, red stitching, aluminium pedals, red interior illumination, and a Carbon instrument panel.
Honda claims that the 2017 models will be the best-handling Civic's yet, thanks to the new active steering, active damper system, a limited-slip differential, and optional soft-compound tires.
Full specifications and pricing of the Civic Si are expected to be announced closer to market arrival in early 2017.
