2017 Geneva Motor Show: Porsche Unveils Panamera Sport Turismo Estate
The new Porsche Panamera Sport Turismo estate features a four-plus-one seating layout and uniquely styled rear end; deliveries expected late 2017.
The new Porsche Panamera series is about to grow a whole load more practical with a new four-plus-one seating arrangement, a big electronically operated tailgate, a lower loading lip and an extra 20 litres of boot space.
This new, spacious Sport Turismo shooting brake was revealed at the 2017 Geneva motor show, with deliveries expected late 2017. The uniquely designed rear end of the Panamera Sport Turismo helps to provide the estate with an excellent interior adaptability and load space.
Everything including the driver's door B-pillar and back is different, and there's an extending roof spoiler with an active wing element which sits above the rear window. It can allow up to 50kg of downforce, but most of the time it's folded away to reduce drag and save fuel.
Among the significant changes offered by the Panamera Sport Turismo is room for an extra passenger - the rear seat is now available with three seats, using a middle third seat forming a 2+1 rear bench.
The seats can be collapsed down together or individually in a 40:20:40 split, opening up 1,390-litres of space. Also, two separate electrically adjustable seats divided by a centre console can be specced instead.
The base variant will be a Panamera 4 Sport Turismo, using a 3.0-litre six-cylinder engine with 327bhp. A pricier 4S Sport Turismo with 434bhp will be positioned above it, alongside a 4S diesel model with 416bhp.
The range topper will be the Panamera Turbo Sport Turismo, a 4.0-litre V8 turbo with 542bhp. A 456bhp E-Hybrid version will be on sale as well, although the plug-in hybrid powertrain takes a toll on practicality, reducing the boot space to 425-litres.
One of the coolest looking GT displayed at the 2017 Geneva Motor Show was the Mercedes-AMG GT Concept, below is an extensive photo gallery, click to view.
