2017 Geneva Motor Show: Maruti Swift Showcased In Switzerland — Is India Ready For It?

The 2017 Maruti Swift has made its European debut at the Geneva Motor Show in Switzerland.

Suzuki Motors has showcased the all-new Swift at the 2017 Geneva Motor Show. The new Maruti Swift which is set to enter India later this year made its debut at the end of 2016 in Japan.

Powering the 2017 Swift are a choice of two engines, a 1.2-litre petrol (found on the current car) and a 1.0-litre Boosterjet turbocharged petrol engine that also powers the all-new Baleno RS.

The 1.2-litre engine produces 90bhp and 110Nm of torque and sends power to the front wheels through a new 5-speed manual gearbox or an AMT. The smaller turbocharged 1.0-litre kicks out 102bhp and 150Nm of torque and transmits power to the front wheels via a 6-speed manual.

Regarding design, the new Swift remains unchanged compared to the car revealed in Japan last year with the larger grille flanked by led headlamps and the new bumper up front. The new Swift also sports a floating roof design and LED taillights along with a revised rear bumper.

The all new Maruti Swift will make its way to India later this year and is expected to be priced at around Rs 5 lakh when it hits showrooms.
