2017 Geneva Motor Show: Lamborghini Huracan Performante Revealed — The King Of The Ring
2017 Geneva Motor Show: Lamborghini Huracan Performante revealed just days after Lamborghini revealed its astonishing Nurburgring lap time.
Lamborghini has revealed the Huracan Performante at the 2017 Geneva Motor Show. The 2017 Geneva Motor Show debut for the Lamborghini Huracan Performante comes just days after the Italian supercar maker revealed the supercar's astonishing Nurburgring time of 6 minutes 52.01 seconds.
Powering the all-new Lamborghini Huracan Performante is a revised version of Lamborghini's 5.2-litre V10 that cranks out 631bhp and 600Nm of torque.
More than 70 percent of the torque is available at just 1,000rpm which meant that the 7-speed dual clutch automatic gearbox needed strengthening to deal with the near-instant torque.
The Lamborghini Huracan will sprint from 0-100km/h in just 2.9 seconds clip past 200km/h in 8.9 seconds and will top out north of 325km/h.
The new Huracan Performante's chassis is a lot stiffer than the on underpinning the regular Huracan and paired with a revised and more rigid suspension setup and rejigged all-wheel-drive system add to the track-focused nature of the latest Lamborghini.
However, the biggest change comes in the form of the new Aerodinamica Lamborghini Attiva (ALA) active aerodynamics system. The ALA provides more downforce when the car is cornering and less drag when the Huracan Performante blasts down the straights.
The ALA system works using flaps up front and at the rear that close to delivering maximum downforce along with the rear wing when the system is turned off.
However, with the system turned on, electric motors take control of the flaps directing air through the grille and under the car while those at the rear direct air through the rear wing stalks, boosting the flow of air while reducing drag.
The rear spoiler is one of many new components in the Huracan Performante made using forged carbon-fibre. The new forged carbon bits ensure that the new Lamborghini Huracan Performante is 40 kilos lighter than the regular car.
The Lamborghini Huracan Performante goes on sale this summer and will sell for €195,040 (Rs 1.37 crore) before taxes come in.
