2017 Geneva Motor Show: Kia Picanto Revealed Ahead Of Entry Into India
The all-new Kia Picanto has been revealed at the 2017 Geneva Motor show with a new turbocharged engine and anew GT line variant.
Kia has revealed the new Picanto at the 2017 Geneva Motor Show. The new Kia Picanto is expected to be one of Kia's first cars to hit India when the Korean manufacturer enters India.
Powering the new Kia Picanto are three petrol engines: a 1.0-litre three-cylinder engine with 66bhp, a 1.25-litre four-cylinder kicking out 83bhp and a turbocharged version of the 1.0-litre engine that produces 99bhp and propels the Picanto from 0-100km/h in 10.1 seconds.
The default gearbox option is a 5-speed manual though a 4-speed automatic is available with the 1.25-litre engine.
Regarding design, all trim levels including the newly revealed GT variant sports Kia's trademark Tiger Nose grille flanked on angular headlights on either side. The front bumper is beefier as well and plays host to a large air dam. The rear end looks curvier compared to the previous generation car.
Inside, the cabin is modern and sports a 'floating' touchscreen display that features Apple CarPlay and Android Auto and controls the infotainment systems of the new Kia Picanto. The cabin also boasts of a wireless phone charger.
Kia Motors is set to enter India in the coming years, and the new Picanto will lead Hyundai's premium car brand's charge in the country when it hits Indian streets.
