BMW To Launch All-New 7 Series At 2016 Auto Expo
BMW India will be launching their all-new 7 Series model at the 2016 Auto Expo. The new 7 Series from BMW was earlier unveiled at the 2015 Frankfurt Motor Show. Both interior and exterior design of 2016 BMW 7 Series will be updated for a more premium feel.
New BMW 7 Series will be offered in Indian market only in the long wheelbase package. Under the hood will be a six-cylinder, 730Ld diesel engine that powers the rear wheels. The engine will be mated to an 8-speed automatic gearbox and delivers 261bhp along with a fuel economy of 22.2 km/l.
Internationally, the BMW 7 Series is equipped with Radar functions. The Active Cruise Control, Lane Departure Warning, and Stop/Go function makes use of Radar technology. It is unclear if BMW will be allowed to use these technologies in India as the Government has strict restrictions on Radar use.
Exterior will witness a bolder kidney grille up front with active cooling. BMW will also equip its 2016 7 Series with LED foglamps, LED tail lights, laser headlights, chrome accents, and dual exhaust outlets. Designers have taken inspiration from the BMW Gran Lusso concept.
2016 BMW 7 Series will receive the largest heads-up display within any vehicle. A high-resolution infotainment system will be provided with iDrive 5.0 with touch gestures. BMW will also be providing new 7 Series with a multifunction steering wheel, driver display, ambient light, and individual rear seats with multiple adjustments.
