Hyundai has taken the covers off their HND-14 Concept SUV at the 2016 Auto Expo. The HND-14 is expected to enter production in 2017.
Engine And Gearbox Specifications
The HND-14 Concept SUV is based on the i20's platform and is expected to feature the same engines and transmissions that are found on the i20 hatchback.
This means that the 1.2-litre petrol engine that pushes out 82bhp & 115Nm and the diesel 1.4-litre powerplant that produces 89bhp and 220Nm could make their way under the hood of the new SUV.
The power and torque will be sent to the front wheels through either a 5-speed manual or a 4-speed AMT gearbox.
Hyundai's Fluidic 2.0 design philosophy is quite evident in the design of the HND-14 including the sweptback headlamps and signature Hyundai grille up front.
The HND-14's rear looks quite unique with the square tail lamps while the sides reming you of the Creta with the flared up wheelarches.
Availability And Rivals
The HND-14 is expected to go into production in 2017 and will go up against the TUV300 from Mahindra and the Ford Ecosport.
