Datsun India is planning to showcase several of its interesting products at the 2016 Auto Expo. The Japanese automobile manufacturer will be showcasing its very first crossover product for global markets. Datsun has named its crossover model as the Go-Cross.
The Go-Cross by Datsun was showcased for the first time at the 2015 Tokyo Motor Show. A high possibility exists that Datsun could launch the Go-Cross model in 2016 itself. Datsun could launch the crossover model as the first product in 2016, pushing plans back for other models.
Currently, Datsun India offers the Go hatchback and Go+ compact station wagon. The hatchback is used as a base for its other models. The Go-Cross too will use the Go hatchback as a base, and will maintain its overall design with a few additions giving it a rugged appearance.
Under the hood of Go-Cross will be the same engine that powers the Go and Go+. Datsun India will make use of their 1.2-litre, three-cylinder petrol engine. The GoCross will not be offered with a diesel engine and Datsun will not provide an optional AMT (Automated Manual Transmission) gearbox.
The Datsun Go-Cross will be making its Indian debut at the 2016 Auto Expo in Delhi. In terms of styling, the Go-Cross will surely have an edge over the competition if it can maintain most its concept design and elements. Stay tuned for more news and updates ahead of the upcoming 2016 Auto Expo.
