Auto Expo 2014: Maruti Suzuki SX4 S-Cross & Ciaz Concept Unveiled

Maruti has unveiled the Ciaz concept which you'll also remember as the vehicle codenamed YL1. The Ciaz concept is replacement model for the SX4 and will be launched during the festive season.

Based off the Ertiga platform, the Ciaz will also be powered by the same engines - the 1.4 liter K2 petrol unit and the 1.3 liter diesel DDiS turbo engine.

In terms of styling, the Ciaz takes inspiration from the Suzuki Authentics Concept as well as the Kizashi. Overall, the Ciaz is a large sporty and aggressive looking model with a premium feel to it. A striking feature about the Ciaz concept are the wraparound taillights and the large chrome covered grille.

The SX4 S-Cross, on the other hand is a production ready compact SUV/crossover model that's based on a new platform. Larger than the EcoSport and about the same size as the Duster, the SX4 S-Cross is Maruti Suzuki's attempt at getting a hold on the popular compact SUV segment.
